A few years later, in 1877, Thomas Hugh Aikens bought more land, built a bridge over the Boise River, and a grocery store, school, and Oddfellows Hall were built. Aikens sold the land to the settlement, and the tiny town of Eagle was born. During the early 1900s, the town grew rapidly. Then, in 1970, the town was incorporated as a city. Since 2000. Eagle’s population has grown by 139.3%, and it is now one of the fastest-growing communities in the U.S.
