When a family relocates to a new city, Boise for example, one of the top considerations on selecting a neighborhood are the schools. Every parent wants their child to attend a great school.

Many families move over the course of their children’s lifetimes for a multitude of reasons. According to MyMove.com’s Consumer Insights Study, which surveyed 8,000 consumers, including 6,300 who had either moved homes within the last 12 months or are planning to move within the next 12 months, a new job or transfer is consistently among the top five reasons that people move. About half of them (49%) relocated to another state or out of the country.

Boise is no stranger to population growth. Families are moving to Boise as the city offers a great, affordable lifestyle, with a robust job and housing market. And, a strong and rigorous school system. In particular, East Boise is experiencing growth, maybe in part to its great schools.

US News reports that Timberline High School (located in East Boise) is ranked #1 in Idaho. It also ranked #916 out of more than 22,000 public high schools in 50 states and the District of Columbia. Schools were awarded gold, silver or bronze medals based on their performance on state assessments and how well they prepare students for college.

And, to address the growth in Boise, voters approved by 86% a Boise School District bond election to support an Educational Facilities Master Plan to reinvest in neighborhood schools and community with ?NO ?increase in the current property tax rate. The bond will help meet the needs of today’s students and the students of the future by reinvesting in our schools and in our communities. The bond will provide facility improvements for ALL 48 schools, plus major building projects for 22 schools, including a new school in the East Boise Harris Ranch area and building a new wing on Timberline High School.i
